ABOUT US
Joe Della-Porta’s creative spirit was nurtured at an early age, being born into a family that combined the forces of engineering with music, product design, sculpture and illustration.
As a teenager he completed a National Diploma in Business Studies before travelling the World in search of personal inspiration.
Following four years as a London based cabinetmaker, during which time he studied for a City & Guilds in carpentry & joinery, Joe transferred to Japan for two years to study under a highly respected Master Craftsman “Toryo” to learn the art of traditional Japanese house building.
In 1996, after graduating from John Makepeace’s infamous School for Craftsmen in Wood, Parnham College in Dorset, with a Diploma in Craftsmanship Design and Business, Joe established Della-Porta Design.
Thanks to the meticulous standards of the Company’s exceptionally skilled craftspeople, clients consistently receive only the highest levels of skills and service.
Joe’s aim is to create pieces of furniture that are aesthetically balanced in design, purposeful, are built with integrity to last and enhance clients’ lifestyles. Joe says, “My intent is to create products which are worth their full potential not only in price, but in design, aesthetic, functionality, quality of materials and longevity. What greater joy can there be for our great grandchildren using what we used?”. As with all estimable quality heirlooms, Della-Porta furniture is admired by the seriously minded investor.
